Having recently relocated to within the precints of Blohm+Voss’ ship repair yards, Barthels + Lüders (B+L), a division of Blohm+Voss Repair GmbH, have further consolidated their activities and competencies in a brand-new, purpose-built Service Center.
This new building, located directly adjacent Dry-Dock ELBE 17 , comprises a three-storey office-block with over 1,800 m² utility floor space, a generously dimensioned spare parts store together with a two-storey workshop area facilitating the complete overhaul of even larger scale engines. The Barthels+Lüders division thus incorporates and provides all service activities occurring beyond the range of everyday yard operations.
The core business activities consist of marine parts supply, anchors and chains sales, engine service and harbour service, which is also now included in the new Service Center.
A team of three project engineers provide a Harbour Service capable of carrying out all types of repairs both above and below deck on all ships within Hamburg Harbour and surrounding areas.
The Harbour Service is further enhanced by the permanent availability of Blohm+Voss’ very own dry-docks and quayside facilities.
Our engineers are furthermore competent partners with regard to the manufacture of engine components.
On account of the new workshop premises and the responsibility for BVI Pielstick Services, Engine Service plays a key role.
It is now possible to carry out comprehensive repairs on main and auxiliary marine engines. Our colleagues in the Engine Service department carry out repairs on ships and power stations world-wide.
Due to the new Spare Parts Store, the supply and dispatch of spare parts can now be carried out in even less time and with higher efficiency that previously. B+L are specialised in stocking and supplying parts for major brands such as SKL, Pielstick, DMR, Sulzer and many other manufacturers.
As from 01.08.2009, B+L are also the official agents within Germany for the supply and servicing of STX Europe parts and components.
